Using my 16-35mm F/2.8 lens on the 5D is a blast. Super wide angle on a full frame camera is awesome. This would be comparable to a 10-22mm on a cropped sensored camera (eg. Xti, 30, 40d).

The first photo I took was at the Monterey Sports Car Championship last month. We were walking around the paddock areas and checked out the old Mazda racing cars. The car shown I believe is an ‘84 Mazda RX-7.

I thought it would be cool to experiment cloning myself. With photoshop I was able to produce a decent picture. It took me about an hour to mask and crop.

We got to Golden Gate park around 10 a.m. just in time to catch most of the walkers finishing the 10K. The lens was amazing. I liked it so much I ended up purchasing one for myself. All I have to do now is give up a kidney to pay it off :) Check out the sample pics here

There were too many colors in the background so I wanted to isolate the red on the boys shirt. Using a dark brown color layer and blending with red I was able to achieve a decent effect

Spent about an hour masking in Photoshop with my Wacom tablet. I applied a motion blur effect to the bakcground as an added touch. Didn’t turn out too bad :)
